Athens (Initially nicknamed the “Flowering city”) is one of the oldest cities in the world that has plenty of religious and cultural buildings. It was named after “Athena” the mythical goddess of warfare. Athens has a rich history of archaeological and historical museums and monuments spanning over 3000 years. The statues of many gods and goddesses in mythical Greek culture still adorn the city today.
